A great piece of advice from Albert Einstein. If we spent more time understanding the problem, our resolutions would be more effective. If you work in the corporate world, problem-solving has a synonym – firefighting. Apparently, we put out more fires than anyone else I know. We spend more time grappling with problems that shouldn’t even exist. We live in a world that says, ‘If it isn’t urgent, worry about it later.” Eventually, the ignored problem becomes so big it calls for – firefighting. How unproductive! If there is anything we can learn from Albert Einstein, it’s that we should take the time to think about the problem and truly understand it. It’s not until we do that, that we can begin to solve it.
