Winter can drag on forever. And just when you think Spring has arrived … it really hasn’t. Here are a few things to get yourself and your place in order for Spring (when it finally decides to show up).
SPRING CLEAN AND DECLUTTER THE HECK OUT OF EVERY ROOM
Now, I know the idea of cleaning doesn’t spark as much joy as it does for others. However, there is something really wonderful about the process. The trick is to start. Whether you decide to break it up by room or by category, just start. You’ll find yourself looking at items you had forgotten about – whether you keep them or not, there’s something really great about slowing down and being purposeful with what will stay with you and what you’ll let go of. Also, I’m a firm believer you’re happier when you use every inch and every thing in your home. But, like I said, this can be a daunting process for some … so if starting small feels more doable, then that’s better than not starting at all.
ADD A NEW PRINT OR TWO
A fresh pop of color or texture can do wonders. Especially because winters can be gray and Spring can be brown and rainy. So a tasteful explosion of color might just be what the doctor ordered.
REARRANGE SOME FURNITURE
This is my go-to strategy every season. Instead of buying new things I rearrange what I have. If done right, it can feel like you just bought a bunch of new pieces.
CHOOSE LIGHTER FABRICS AND TEXTURES
I love all neutrals and I especially love white. Some may find it boring but if done right it can be classic and clean and airy. Ok, moving on…
BRING OUT THE GREENERY
Yep, plant lady time. I wish I was great with plants. But, I’m not sure I am. However, greenery is a wonderful way to bring in some life into your space. I’m convinced there’s a plant for every person.
BUY SOME NEW SCENTS
Let’s get the place smelling fresh and wonderful! Buy all the candles that make you smile and that look great in your space.
