Life in Ohio has been good. It’s incredible how much better life is when you connect with people. I know that sounds ridiculous … but it’s true. As humans we long to connect, love and share. I’ve been very fortunate to meet some awesome people in a short period of time. They’ve taken me in, loved on me, fed me and made me feel a part of their family. With that said, here are some of my favorite moments from the past two weeks.
This weekend, a few of us are trying a very simple DIY.
- Mason jars
Krylon brand spray paint (If you want gold, they recommend “Gold Leaf”)
Small cardboard to place the sprayed bottles to dry
There are multiple points in life, where we’ve all thought, “this is definitely not how I pictured things turning out.”
I’m in a new season. A season of new beginnings and new opportunities. Although I’m generally OK with change, my recent move to Ohio is going down as one of the more significant ones.
Progress is impossible without change. Change brings newness. Change brings opportunity. Change brings maturity.
To go back to my opening statement, I really never pictured being where I am today. But as Stephen Chbosky said it oh so bluntly, “Things change. And friends leave. Life doesn’t stop for anybody.”
Despite having moments where I miss my family and friends terribly, there is a peace that is inexplicable. God has provided some sparks to keep me motivated and reminded that He is in control.
“the best way to get something done is to begin.”
Never has this quote felt more real than now:
“A certain darkness is needed to see the stars.”
My friends threw me a Great Gatsby Going Away Party. Talk about fuuuuuun! Check out some photos from the night. The ladies’ gave us their best ‘Daisy Buchanan’ pose, while the guys gave us their best ‘Jay Gastby’.

Steph has graduated! We are all so proud of her hard work and accomplishments. Many of her family members and friends went to check out her final installation piece at the 2013 BFA Show.
