It’s been snowing nonstop around here with temperatures dropping to the negatives. When it’s this cold all you really want to do is curl up in a blanket and watch Netflix. However, it really is nice to brave the weather and try to go out, even if it’s just for a few minutes….
On Friday, I went to an Essential Oils Yoga Workshop at Yoga Bliss. I’m not a yogi at all… but this was different and quite relaxing. I learned a lot about myself in those 2 hours — mostly that I am the most inflexible person on planet Earth and that I am absolutely terrible at relaxing. My friend couldn’t help but point out that my shoulders were constantly tense and my eyebrows/forehead were fringing when we were supposed to be connecting with our hearts and bodies. Perhaps I just need to practice more….
Anyway, I’m glad I tried something different.
Saturday, was spent at home while a crazy snow storm hit. I treated myself to a delicious breakfast, read, caught up on House of Cards (who’s pumped for Season 3?!) and attempted half-moon nails, with the help of Essie’s Really Red, for the first time. Pretty productive if you ask me.
Sunday was sunny and freezing so I only stepped out for a few minutes to grab some food before a friend came over to hangz.
Hope you’re weekend was full of love and a lot warmer than mine!
It was a fun weekend. Here’s a little recap of all that went down.
Friday: The weekend started with some home decorating, donut eating and a little free froyo at Menchie’s for #nationalfrozenyogurtday.
“Phat” Saturday: In case you haven’t noticed yet, I really love to eat. So when my friend asked me to join her on her last “fat” day before she starts the CrossFit 8 Week Challenge on Monday, I happily accepted. “Phat” Saturday consisted of:
Bang Bang Shrimp at Bonefish Grill
Coffee at Four Kids Coffee
Donuts at Peace, Love and Little Donuts
Pizza at Big Star
Frozen Yogurt at Menchie’s
The day ended with a serious stomach ache and lots of tea. I don’t think I’ll be having another “Phat” Saturday for a very long time.
Sunday: I kicked off the morning with a podcast from The Village Church. I used to be a big podcast person but somehow stopped. I think I’m going to get in the habit of it again …
After that, I set off to one of my favorite Cleveland spots – The Cleveland Museum of Art. I absolutely love art and design. I don’t know much about art history but definitely have an appreciation for it. I have deep admiration for those who can create and express themselves through writing, music, art and dance. I think what I love most about museums is that time stops, your mind escapes, you become inspired and your guaranteed to learn something new. If you ever find yourself in Cleveland, stop by the museum –it’s one of the best fine art collections in the country and free!
The evening ended at a friend’s house for a Grammy’s watch party. And, yes, the Grammy’s disappointed. So much so we all passed out on the couch after scarfing down some pizza and Chilcanos.
Hope you had a great weekend!
Enjoy some snaps from the weekend! For those of you who have to deal with snow… I hope you stayed warm!
This girl loves Fridays. Why? Because it means the weekend is here! Have some fun, make something, eat something delicious, sleep in, have great conversations and enjoy the little things. xx

There’s nothing better than the weekend. Whether it’s jam-packed with activities or uneventful… it’s a nice break from the Mon.-Fri. routine. This weekend was pretty low-key & I loved every minute of it.
Friday– Fridays are rough for me because, well, quite frankly its the ending of a long work week. Nothing sounds more tempting than pizza, a movie and jammies on Friday night. However, this week I decided to push myself and not bail on friends in order to join them for dinner at TownHall, which had a fantastic crowd (despite the cold weather) and great tasting food. I’m glad I went. This doesn’t mean I’ll be repeating it next Friday.
Saturday– Most of friends know I like to sleep in on Saturdays so they don’t typically text me until after 11am. Maybe I should rephrase that, they probably do text me before 11am I just don’t see it until I wake up and shut off my Airplane mode. In any case, this Saturday I joined a friend on some errands, which included: shopping, Costco-ing, donut eating, YouTubing and wedding planning.
Sunday – I love Sundays, .even though they usually mean the weekend is coming to an end. I love going to church, eating a good meal and spending the rest of the afternoon/evening reading a book, sipping on coffee or wine and then Skyping with family and friends. This Sunday consisted of exactly that … plus a little redecorating around the apartment.
A snow storm was supposed to hit us this weekend so in preparation for that, I purchased Amy Poehler’s, “Yes Please”, which I CANNOT wait to read. I also decided to install my new bar cart and add a little twinkle to my bedroom with Christmas lights.
Hope your weekend was lovely!
It’s Friday. Which means, it’s really the weekend! Go have an adventure!
I always (well, almost always) try to recap what I did on the weekend. It’s like my very own diary but with photos. On occasion, I look back at these posts to remind myself of how good life is to me. Some weekend’s are non-stop and full of adventure while others are perfectly quiet and unscheduled.
Here are a few of my favorite photos from the weekend.
1) Spring clothes & pops of color (it was 70 degrees!)
2) Iced coffee (again, b/c it was 70 degrees!)
3) Estate sales + shopping.
4) Dinner with friends while sitting next to my twin? (so creepy).
5) Late night sweets to make my bones stronger.
6) Words for the weekend to keep me grounded.
7) A little “me” time for some relaxation and inspiration.
8) A DIY project. (I know some of the frames are crooked, trust me. I’ll fix them this weekend…)
9) A much-needed outdoor run b/c treadmills can be REALLY boring.
10) Iced coffee, again. I might have a caffeine problem. Don’t judge me?
We saw hints of Spring this weekend – warmer weather, sunny skies & a few pops of color on the ground.
In honor of the warmer weather we decided to celebrate with a delicious meal at Burntwood Tavern.
Spring, hurry up. Please.
Happy weekend, friends!
Go out, have fun and enjoy life and the beauty around you.
